1. Proposition 65 Overview

California's Proposition 65 (the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986) requires businesses to provide warnings to California residents about exposures to chemicals that cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm. A chemical listed as a carcinogen or reproductive toxicant under Prop 65 may be present in certain products even at trace levels. The list of chemicals is maintained by the California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA).

2. JOHN VARELIX Products and Prop 65

3. Lead and Cadmium Disclosure

Some botanical ingredients may contain trace amounts of lead or cadmium from natural soil deposits. These elements are naturally occurring in plants and are not added during manufacturing. The levels are typically below regulatory limits but may require a Prop 65 warning under California's stringent standards.

4. Natural Mineral Content

Products containing clay, salt, or mineral-based ingredients (e.g., bentonite clay, Epsom salt, Himalayan pink salt) may contain trace amounts of heavy metals. These are naturally occurring and not added during processing.
